Government Childcare Funding

Welcome to Mighty Oaks Nursery! We understand that providing high-quality childcare can be a significant expense for families. That’s why we want to ensure you are well-informed about the various government childcare funding options available to help support your child’s early education.

Funding Options Available

15 Hours Free Childcare

All 3 and 4-year-olds in England are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year. This funding starts the term after your child’s third birthday and can be used at Mighty Oaks Nursery to cover part-time sessions.

30 Hours Free Childcare

Working parents of 3 and 4-year-olds may be eligible for an additional 15 hours per week, making a total of 30 hours of free childcare. To qualify, each parent (or the sole parent in a single-parent family) must earn the equivalent of at least 16 hours at the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage per week.

Tax-Free Childcare

The Tax-Free Childcare scheme is available for children under 12 (or under 17 if they have a disability). For every £8 you pay into your online childcare account, the government will add an extra £2, up to £2,000 per child per year (£4,000 for a child with a disability).

Universal Credit for Childcare

If you are eligible for Universal Credit, you can claim back up to 85% of your childcare costs. This support is available for children under 17, and you can receive up to £646 per month for one child or £1,108 for two or more children.

Childcare Vouchers

Although the Childcare Vouchers scheme is closed to new entrants, if you are already signed up, you can continue to use vouchers to help pay for your childcare. These vouchers are a great way to save on your childcare costs through salary sacrifice.

How to Apply

Applying for government childcare funding is straightforward. For 15 and 30 hours of free childcare, you will need to provide us with your eligibility code and your child’s details. For Tax-Free Childcare and Universal Credit, you will need to apply directly through the government website.

At Mighty Oaks Nursery, we are more than happy to assist you with the application process. If you have any questions or need guidance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
